OTC成立于1969年，旗下的展会美国OTC以及巴西OTC至今都成为全球综合类石油天然气展会。马来西亚国际石油天然气展OTC Asia在马来西亚吉隆坡举办，是美国休斯敦OTC的姊妹展，是在亚洲举行的又一国际性的盛会。展会现场展示先进的海上钻井、勘探、生产和环保技术，聚集了来自世界各地的石油天然气行业的专业人士共同分享行业的尖端技术以及产品。
此展会同样由美国休斯顿OTC展的13家组织机构主办，是亚洲区域内颇具影响力的海洋石油技术展览会。
OTC Asia 2020 was held virtually to provide the industry a platform for continued knowledge-sharing and professional development, and to preserve the significant work of the programme committee and authors who had prepared for the in-person event originally planned for March 2020.
